One Piece Episode 1043 Review: Slash The Nightmare – Brook Draws His Freezing Sword!

One Piece Episode 1043 starts with the continuation of the fight in different places in Kaido’s castle. And Specifically focuses on the battle between Robin, Brook, and Black Maria & Her Subordinates.

A Quick Recap of the Previous Episode 1042

In episode 1042 of one piece, we have seen the continuation of the battles between Franky and Sasaki, Kaido and Yamato, & Robin and Black Maria. Franky blocked Sasaki’s bulle-triceratops with his General Canon and launched a counterattack with his Radical Beam to defeat Sasaki.

Meanwhile, Kaido continues to lure Yamato to join him so that they can rule the land of wano forever. But Yamato strongly denied that by saying she will open the borders of wano which made Kaido very angry. He launched his blask breath attack on Yamato, and she defended the attack with Namiji Glacier Fang which is her dog-dog devil fruit’s power.

Besides, on the other part of the castle, Brook suddenly found Robin inside an illusion mist which is created by Black Maria. At first, Robin couldn’t understand that, and Brook warned her not to enter there as it’s just an illusion that manipulates the victim’s sweet memories.

In that illusion, Robin saw her Mother, Saul, and Professor Clover. She also remembers how her mother Olvia left her when she was born and never come back after that. But, when she came to her, she refused to accept Robin as her daughter. She said Robin must have mistaken her for her mom.

We got to see that that was the time when the Navy attacked the home island of Robin and to make her daughter safe Robin’s Mom did this. But, before her affection and emotions, Robin’s Mother couldn’t control herself any more and hugged Robin. She told her to leave this island and be safe, as the Navy will kill everyone on that island.

She remembers her first meeting with Seal and how her mother Olvia was researching around the world to know the blank history of 100 years from Ponegliffs. But, finally, Robin understood this is an illusion mist created by Black Maria and broke the illusion & defeated Maria’s subordinates before they could attack her.

One Piece Episode 1043 Review

One Piece Episode 1043 starts with the continuation of the battle between Brook, Robin, and Black Maria. Robin successfully broke the illusion mist of Black Maria on Her. Maria & Her Subordinates are shocked to see both Brook and Robin as their illusion didn’t work on them like so many others who fought them.

Viewers got to see the illusion that Brook saw in his memories. Brook found himself in front of his Rumber Pirate Captain, Yorky, and all his crew members with whom in the past he spent his sea journey.

But, he soon realized that it was an illusion when Captain Yorky went on attacking him suddenly. Brook quickly dodged their attack and killed those fake crew members who are obviously Maria’s subordinates in disguise. And Finally, when Yonky again going to attack him, he defeated him with his Song of Scratches “Blizzard Slice” attack.

Suddenly, Maria started attacking with her “Wanyudo Sleeve Swing” to Brook & Robin while they both were running to escape from that place. We also got to know about the devil fruit which is used by Black Maria. It’s called “Wanyudo” which is a Pug Smile Fruit.

Maria used flames to burn the entire floor which was quickly dodged by Robin with her Spider Net. Brook told Robin to hold him for a few minutes, and he used his “Cold Soul”. In that form, he attacked Wanyudo and froze it. To get rid of the flames, Brook used Soul Parade Technique and amazingly made the burning floor into ice.

To see both of them dodge her attack, Maria started to manipulate Robin by saying how his crew member made her come into her trap knowingly. Robin stopped her by saying, “Sanji is a man worthy of being one of the two arms of the King of Pirates” and transformed into “Gigantic Fleur” & launched her attack with “Sea Serpant Snapdragon.” Maria launched her counterattack with “Maria Nette” to Robin’s giant form which also affects Robin’s real body.

Meanwhile, at the Toakge Port, we see Luffy screaming for meat as Polan Tang crew members couldn’t give him more meat than he demands. Hearing Luff’s scream, Momonosuke also reached there and told him with tears that other samurai and ninja warriors got wounded by Kaido.

Luffy scolded him for crying and gave him the courage to fight along with him as he is the leader of the wano. Then, Luffy said Momo to transform into a Dragon to take him to the castle.

Conclusion

Surprisingly, There were many action-based scenes in this one-piece episode 1043 which are greatly visualized. We got to see new forms of Robin & Brook’s fighting spirit. Overall, we give this episode a 4.5 out of 5 rating.
