One Piece Episode 1041 Review: Showdown Battles of the Monsters! Yamato and Franky

Just like many previous episodes, One Piece episode 1041 is also full of action, mystery & light humour. This episode was released on November 20 and titled “Showdown Battles of the Monsters! Yamato and Franky.” Before going further please remember, this review contains spoilers.

A Quick Recap of One Piece Episode 1040

In the previous episode of One Piece, we have seen so many incidents taking place simultaneously at different places inside Kaido’s place. For ease of understanding in a quicker way, I’m writing down all the incidents shortly in points.

• While Daifugo and Gazelle Man are now fighting against the Kaido’s army while giving cover to Nami, Usopp & Horselina who are protecting Otama.
• Animal Kingdom’s pirates keep losing their troops to the power of Otama’s Kibi Dango. When the battle started the troop difference between Kaido and Luffys’ were about 6 times, and now it’s been reduced to 16,000 to Kaido’s side and 9,000 to Luffy’s side.
• Jimbei and former CP9 member Who’s Who are fighting a deadly battle in one corner of the castle. Interestingly, Who’s Who is talking about getting severe punishment from the Sun God ‘Nika’ for losing the Gum-Gum devil fruit to the Shanks, which ultimately was eaten by Luffy. According to Who’s Who, Sun God Nika is a legendary warrior of ancient times who was believed to free the slaves one day from torture.
• Jimbei is clueless regarding Who’s Who and didn’t get why he is telling him all these things. So he asked him about this and Who’s who replied that the Sun pirates whom Jimbei once led, had some members who used to be the slaves whom Sun God Nika saved. But, Jimbeii didn’t care about all this, as he was ready to defeat him. And finally, after an impressive fight between them, Jimbei made Who’s Who unconscious with his massive Demon Brick Fist attack.
• On the rooftop of Skull Dome, Yamato (Daughter of Kaido) finally challenged Kaido to a battle.

One Piece Episode 1041 Review

One Piece Episode 1041 starts after Kaido’s daughter Yamato challenges Kaido to a battle. At first, Kaido was thinking Yamato was just acting funny. So after seeing her angry expression, he offered Yamato to be the Shogun of the Land of Wano, which can help her to increase her strength as much as she wants.

But, Yamato strongly rejects the offer as she made it clear to Kaido that she will never try to dominate anyone and made it clear to him that he can’t force her to do things any more. That obviously made Kaido furious.

In a flashback, it was shown that Yamato in her childhood once ate a rare devil fruit without knowing as she was hungry. Kaido brought that devil fruit for other purposes to use. Because of that, since then Kaido forbade her to go out of the castle, and also after eating the devil fruit unknowingly, she couldn’t swim. But, this also helped her to become stronger.

Meanwhile, On the performance floor inside the skull castle, Sanji & Queen were fighting and Sanji was outperformed by Queen many times, it was hard for Sanji too to keep up with Queen as he was really strong. But, He still didn’t give up and continued to fight and become separate to beat Queen. But now Queen started to use leader beams from his mechanical claw, which was very hard to dodge for Sanji now.

Zoro was understanding the problem that Sanji couldn’t beat Queen alone, and he has to help him. But he was already wrapped in a bandage because of the previous fights. But, Chopper along with other doctors, managed to make a drug that can heal any would superfast.

This medicine was used in Zou many times. But, the side effects of the drug were it will make the victim suffer twice later on. But, Zoro was determined to get it even though he was terrified to see a big needle. And finally, he got the drug.

When Sasaki understood that Tama has made his animal kingdom subordinates change their side with her power, he doesn’t become surprised. Instead, he transformed into his Man Beast form to attack Franky who is inside General Franky. He defended Sasaki’s attack by blocking his horns with his General Shield.

Later, it was shown that the Heart Pirates recovered Luffy from drowning in the sea as he was defeated by Kaido and thrown into the sea. They finally managed to remove water from his lungs and waited for him to get conscious. After some effort, Luffy finally regains consciousness and screams for Meat.

Conclusion

In one piece episode 1041, While there were many actions and impacts we saw in the following episode which was very detailed with description, on the other side because of that it becomes very slow now and only showed little details compared to the previous episode. Overall we give this episode a 3.5 out of 5 rating.
