More Than A Married Couple But Not Lovers Episode 12, titled “Done, Being Less Than Love” is the final episode of season 1. The episode starts with Akari, praying at the shrine just like she was in the first episode of this series.
Akari was saying that She likes someone else now, and it’s less likely she will succeed being with that person, but she will try her best. Besides, Shiori & Jiro both were lost in their thinking about the last night’s kiss of each other while in their respective homes.
But, both of them were anxious and doubted within themselves if they really love each other. Shiori was thinking if Jiro also likes Akari as they both spend lots of time together, while Jiro was surprised that last night after She kissed him also apologized to him and didn’t say anything more.
Shiori & Jiro Both Being Anxious to Express Their Love to Each Other
Jiro & Shiori were both thinking about how to face each other after that night as they both shared their first romantic feeling while thinking all this Jiro went to buy some comics from the market and end up meeting with Shiori who was also there to buy a notebook for his brother.
At first, it was a little awkward for both of them, but later Shiori invited him to her practical home as it was raining outside, and they didn’t have an umbrella, and also her marriage practical home was close by. Jiro was too surprised at first but agreed to go with her. It was a long desire for Shiori to be with Jiro as a married couple, as we see she jokingly called him ‘Hubby’. But, still, both of them couldn’t able to express their love to each after the last night incident.
While Jiro was trying to say something to her but couldn’t and kept looking at Shiori’s face while she was reading, which got her attention. But, when Shiori got that Jiro was still not sure about his love for her, she went into her room suddenly and again become anxious and thought if he is bored being with her.
Jiro too couldn’t understand Shiori’s sudden behaviour and thought if she dislikes him. Before Jiro could think of any more possibility of Shiori’s mind change, she came with a smiling face from her room and told him to look outside the window as it was a rainbow in the sky.
They both went outside and Shiori took a selfie with Jiro for the first time. Finally, the anxiousness of both of them melted a little, if not Shiori showed him a picture of other friends smiling with Jiro where Akari was also there beside Jiro. He suddenly started thinking about Akari by looking at her smiling face and stopped himself from saying anything regarding their last night to Shiori.
More Than A Married Couple But Not Lovers Episode 12: Did Akari really fall in love with Jiro?
More Than A Married Couple But Not Lovers episode 12 gave the viewers a special surprise. Many fans could have guessed already. It’s finally happening as Akari finally fell in love with Jiro although she still kept it within herself. Did Akari really fall in love with Jiro? Yes. It happens through the following events.
While Jiro was lying on her bed thinking why he couldn’t talk with Shiori properly and express his feelings, suddenly a lot of messages came to his phone. At first, he thought it must be Kamo, but he got startled to find it Akari’s. He even got more surprised to see, Akari asked him for a date at Seishun Station within two hours.
Jiro couldn’t understand the reason for this as they are on summer break so no score for being a couple and so many random possibilities, but end up going to that place 10 minutes before the given time.
He was thinking if Akari made a prank on him as she didn’t come even after 15 minutes, and thought to return, that is when Akari came and apologize to him for being late as she was picking a good dress for the date. Jiro was thinking about what to do now when Akari told him she wants to visit a lot of places today with him.
Akari and Jiro’s date was becoming more casual than awkward now as She ordered a chocolate smoothie and after Jiro tasted it, she also tasted the same one. Jiro was thinking if Aki has changed or if is it how she really is. His perspective got more insights when he found Akari playing with cats in the cat café with a joyful face.
He felt lucky to be Akari’s husband, as she got to see a special side of Akari for the first time. Anyhow, at the return time, Akari told him one day they have to say goodbye to each and became emotional saying she will be alone. Suddenly, she remembers she forgot to buy a charm for the shrine where she’ll go for prayers and run towards that place. And Jiro also followed her.
On her way to the shrine, Akari met with Shiori and Jiro too came. When Shiori found out Akari is going to the shrine, she remembers the first day she went there and saw Akari there. She suggested a race with Akari to the shrine, and they both reach there at the same time, surprisingly. When Jiro reached there, carrying both of their belongings, all of them prayed together to the shrine and wish their desire secretly.
Who does Jiro end up with?
In the anime, we did not get to see who does Jiro end up with between Akari and Shiori. As the anime was left open for a potential second season, the ending of the first season does hint at who Jiro might end up with.
If the series gets a second season, it is likely that Jiro will end up with Akari. In the whole Season 1 of the anime, the plot was focused on the building up of Jiro and Akari’s relationship. And the ending of the first season seems to be setting up a love triangle between Jiro, Akari, and Shiori.
What did Jiro wish for at the shrine?
Now, many of the viewers may have the curiosity to know what did Jiro wish for at the shrine. But, in the anime, it is not really shown explicitly what did Jiro wish for at the shrine. Don’t worry here are some clues which we can get from the anime, what that wish might be.
As you already know in the anime Jiro is in a love triangle with both Akari and Shiori. He has feelings for both girls, but he is not sure who he loves more. So, there is a high chance that he could have wished for guidance in his love life, or for the strength to make a decision.
